Queer cruising app in the Bronx

Written by Julien Lenaz, lead developer of cruush.

The borough

The Bronx is Bronx County and the only New York City borough on the mainland. Neighborhoods include Riverdale, Kingsbridge, Fordham, the South Bronx and Pelham Bay.

Getting around

The 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, B and D trains serve different parts of the borough, and Metro-North runs to Grand Central from several Bronx stations. The 4, B and D stop at Yankee Stadium.

Parks

Pelham Bay Park is the largest park in New York City. Van Cortlandt Park and the New York Botanical Garden are also in the borough.

Using cruush

If you commute to Manhattan, you can move your pin to your own neighborhood at the end of the day instead of the one you work in.

Neighborhood notes

Riverdale is in the northwest, along the Hudson. Kingsbridge and Fordham are in the west-central part. The South Bronx is the area closest to Manhattan. Pelham Bay is in the northeast.

Planning a night

Subway service runs all night, but late-night trains are less frequent. Metro-North has fewer trains late, so check the last departure.
