Queer cruising app in Philadelphia

Written by Julien Lenaz, lead developer of cruush.

The city

Philadelphia is about 80 miles from New York City, within the cruush service area. Its Gayborhood, in Washington Square West, is known for rainbow street signs and the many LGBTQ businesses around it.

Getting around

SEPTA runs the subway, trolleys and regional rail. Amtrak's 30th Street Station has direct trains to New York.

Pride

Philadelphia holds its Pride celebrations in June.

Using cruush

If you are visiting from New York for a day, you can move your pin to Philadelphia before you take the train.

Neighborhood notes

Center City is the downtown. The Gayborhood is on its east side. Fishtown, Northern Liberties and South Philadelphia are nearby, and West Philadelphia is across the Schuylkill River.

Planning a night

SEPTA service is less frequent late at night, so check the schedule before you head back.
