Queer cruising app on the Jersey Shore

Written by Julien Lenaz, lead developer of cruush.

The shore

The Jersey Shore is New Jersey's Atlantic coast. Monmouth and Ocean counties are inside the cruush service area, and Asbury Park, in Monmouth County, has a long reputation as LGBTQ friendly.

Getting around

NJ Transit's North Jersey Coast Line connects New York Penn Station with shore towns in Monmouth County. In summer, many towns are easier to reach by car.

Using cruush

Beach towns change with the season. You can move your pin to a shore town before you head down for the weekend and see who is around.

Neighborhood notes

Asbury Park, Ocean Grove and Long Branch are in Monmouth County. Seaside Heights and Long Beach Island are farther south in Ocean County. Atlantic City is in Atlantic County.

Planning a night

Shore towns are busiest in summer, and traffic and parking can be hard. Check train times, because service is less frequent in the off-season.
