Queer cruising app in Brooklyn

Written by Julien Lenaz, lead developer of cruush.

The borough

Brooklyn is Kings County and the most populous of the five boroughs. Neighborhoods people mention often include Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Bushwick, Park Slope, Crown Heights and Bed-Stuy.

Getting around

The L train runs between Manhattan, Williamsburg and Bushwick. Many other lines cross into Manhattan, and the G train connects Brooklyn and Queens without going through Manhattan. Check the schedule before you head home late.

Pride

The Brooklyn Pride Twilight Parade runs along Fifth Avenue in Park Slope.

Using cruush

If you are across the river in Manhattan or Queens, you can move your pin to a Brooklyn neighborhood in advance and see who is around before you take the train.

Neighborhood notes

Williamsburg and Greenpoint are in the north, near the East River. Bushwick is inland. Park Slope borders Prospect Park. Crown Heights and Bed-Stuy are in central Brooklyn.

Planning a night

The subway runs all night, but late-night trains are less frequent and lines are often rerouted on weekends. Check for service changes before you go.
