Paying on cruush with stablecoins

Written by cruush.

What is a stablecoin?

A stablecoin is a kind of cryptocurrency designed to stay close to a familiar currency. The stablecoins used by cruush, PYUSD and USDC, are designed to track the US dollar. For example, 20 PYUSD is intended to be worth about 20 USD, before fees. Read the issuers’ explanations of PYUSD and USDC.

You do not need to trade crypto to pay for membership time. Stablecoins still carry risk; their value is not guaranteed, and PYUSD is not an insured bank deposit. PayPal’s crypto terms explain these risks.

Why does cruush use it?

Crypto lets cruush offer one-time payments while keeping the app built for the whole queer community. It also lets us offer NSFW content from adult users.

You pay once for the cruush+ time you choose. Nothing renews automatically.

Which method should I choose?

Choose the app or wallet you will actually send from:

The network is the route your payment travels on. Match both the coin and the network shown in your cruush order. Coins with the same name can exist on different networks.

Only use a method available in your app and region. Venmo requires at least 10 PYUSD for an external Ethereum transfer. If your order is below that amount, choose another supported method instead of sending extra.

How do I pay?

1. Prepare your funds before starting a timed cruush order. Choose a supported method, buy or add the correct coin if needed, and check that your app lets you send it to an external address on the required network. Newly purchased funds may be held before you can send them. Leave enough balance for the payment and your app’s sending fee.

2. Start your order when you are ready to send. Choose your membership time and payment method in cruush. Check the order’s exact amount, coin, network and payment address.

3. Send from your selected app. Follow “How to send this payment” in checkout. Copy the address and exact amount from that order. Check the network and fees before approving the transfer. Opening PayPal or Venmo does not send the payment for you. Their official instructions cover sending from PayPal and sending from Venmo.

4. Return to your cruush order. Follow its payment status. Network confirmation takes time. Your membership activates when cruush confirms a qualifying payment.

Keep your order available while you pay. Follow its timer, and do not send to an expired or cancelled order. If you already sent payment, do not pay again just because confirmation is taking longer.

What are the fees?

Your cruush order shows its processing fee in the total amount to send. Your payment app may charge a separate buying or sending fee; review its final total before approving.

A network fee, sometimes called “gas,” pays for recording the transfer. PayPal and Venmo show their sending fees in the app; follow their fee instructions. You do not need to send a separate gas payment to cruush. See PayPal’s fees and Venmo’s fees. With a self-custody wallet, check the wallet’s required network fee and balance before starting your order.

What if my payment has not arrived?

If your payment app shows the transfer was sent but cruush has not confirmed your order after 30 minutes, contact payment support. We’ll help you check the payment and your order. Please don’t pay again while it’s being checked.

Contact support sooner if you think the amount, address or network was wrong. Include your cruush order number, the app you used, when you sent it and the transaction ID if available. If the app still shows pending, tell us that too. We can help check the order, but only the sending provider can resolve a transfer it has not released.

Never send us your password, private key, recovery phrase or full card details. Support can investigate a delayed payment; it cannot guarantee recovery of a transfer sent to the wrong address or network.
